“Chrysanthemum Rock” is an intoxicating shoegaze/rock-hybrid anthem about the importance of doing things that lead nowhere.
“Chrysanthemum Rock” is the first single in over a year from leftfield indie artist llawgne, aka Mathias Engwall. It is a hypnotic wall of sound over hard hitting rock drums - as if Kevin Shields had produced the Stone Roses. Screaming guitars, pop-melodies and an infectious tempo. A shoegaze rock anthem about smelling the flowers.
“Teach yourself to ease the pain…by learning to sing the chrysanthemum rock” is an urging as good as any in a time when more and more people break under the pressure to perform their best both at work and in their personal life.
So - stop! Smell the flowers. Do stuff that lead absolutely nowhere.
Listen to it on Spotify or Apple Music (or the streaming platform of your choice).
There's also a video. No one should watch it though. It has an above average probability of causing seizures and we will not link to it for legal reasons.
